31 years old, software developer, startup addict.

Hello, My Name is Sam.

I've been developing software for over 10 years, and have honed my abilities as an entrepreneur through multiple startups. At 25 years old, I was the CTO of a mid-sized logistics company, with clients such as Reddy Ice and the state of Texas. While there, I spearheaded the development of an innovative automated marketing system and VOIP integrated CRM, which together increased the company's profits by staggering amounts.

At 26, I founded my first startup and within a few months of its founding, the company was accepted into a Forbes Top 10 accelerator.

I specialize in many different technologies, and can build almost anything. At the moment, I’m working on a couple of different projects which you can read about below. I also would like to spend 20-30 hours a week along side my team helping others get their own ideas off the ground by offering my services as a developer or startup consultant.

If you have a project you'd like to discuss, please don't hesitate to reach out to me to discuss your ideas.

Work Process

1. Idea
2. Sketch
3. Design
4. Develop
5. Test
6. Launch

Idea

Step 1 - Idea

Generally speaking we will spend the majority of our first few meetings discussing your ideas and trying to hone in on what needs to be included in the MVP version of your product or service. It’s the information I collect here that will allow me to build a roadmap for your project.

Sketch

Step 2 - Sketch

Once I understand exactly what it is you’re looking to build, and we’ve agreed on the appropriate milestones, I’ll start looking through piles of open source and licensable components for your project. The overall effect of this effort is a massive reduction in the amount of time it takes to complete your project and its overall cost. By the end of this process, I’ll be able to give you a detailed sketch of how we can put this thing together.

Design

Step 3 - Design

After I’ve rounded up the appropriate resources and we’ve agreed on the general ideas behind the design, I’ll begin assembling the UI. At this point it won’t have any back-end functionality, but you’ll be able to see the look and feel end users will experience when using your product or service.

Develop

Step 4 - Develop

Once all the front-end UI / UX has been completed, I’ll begin coding the back-end of your product or application. This is where your project will really start to come to life, and you’ll see what we’ve imagined becoming a reality.

Test

Step 5 - Test

After we have a functional prototype version of your project, we will need to test it thoroughly before making it available to the public. You will be amazed by all the creative ways people can find to break a piece of software. The more people you can bring into this process the better, and as with every other piece of software, there will be bugs that need fixing.

Launch

Step 6 - Launch

Now it’s time to sit back and drink a beer. We’ve launched your project, which means customers can sign up and use your product or service. Happy days are ahead. Should you want to continue to add features to your application, we can create a new project and go from there.

Current Projects

These are three of my favorite projects. I'm the sole developer of each of them, meaning that I built the front end, back end, the mobile apps, and the APIs (obviously this statement excludes licensed content used in the project).
